My day started at 6 am, I woke up to my alarm. I was about to check my snapchat to send my streaks. I stopped myself. I had to remember the assignment. I got out of bed and told my brother to keep my streaks, which he did. I woke up and attached notes to flowers. My mom and I were going to pass out flowers at a local mosque. We decided we would do this later in the week so we weren't so crammed because we still had to go to Jerome and dress up as ghosts.
I got ready and soon we were on our way to Jerome. I should probably explain why I was dressing up as a ghost and running around in a public place. I am doing GISHWHES. If you don't want to click on the link, it is a week where you go around doing weird, crazy, nice, fun things. Hence going to a famous ghost town dressed like a ghost. I can't post the pictures before the hunt ends otherwise my team would lose points, but let me just ask you. Have you ever seen a skateboarding ghost? Or a ghost going down a slide? Let me just say it was so much fun.
I finally get home and now I am writing this assignment. Today was not as hard as I thought it would be. I didn't have withdrawals, or any need to be on my phone. Would I ever do this again? No. But I did have a fun day without technology. I usually need it to check how my friends are or to see what my favorite actor was doing on his day off. But today was just a good quality day with my family.
I also think the experience may be different for everyone. For someone like my mother it would be easier. She is in her mid thirties, loves the outdoors, isn't on her phone constantly. She would be fine not having the internet for a day. For someone like me on the other hand, it wouldn't be as easy. Teenager, loves inside, needs phone to function. I believe the only reason I actually made it through the day was because I kept myself busy. If I was sitting at home, I would not have lived to write this. What I am most shocked about from this experience is the fact that I actually had fun.
